Hi, I’m Anupama, an award-winning print-audio journalist and New York University alumnus, intent on telling data-rich stories of people trying to solve problems. I cut my teeth as a business journalist in the manic newsrooms of Manhattan and Hong Kong, mastering details, deadlines, and budgets. Turns out, that was just the warm-up for the real boss life: being a working mom!
A few years ago, I rediscovered my love for audio, taking me back to a latch-and-key childhood in Bombay. For my sister and me, vacations meant recording silly chatter on a tape recorder and crowding around a crackling radio soaking in cricket commentary and BBC news. Since 2018, I have excitedly recorded, edited and mixed audio stories, peppered with vivid soundscapes, on science, environment, business and gender for global media outlets and social enterprises.
I love building real connections at work—but fair warning: if we team up, there’s a good chance we’ll get sidetracked talking about food, films and fossils!

Training
Are you a media company or social enterprise exploring podcasting? I can guide your team through the process, making it simple and approachable.
My training focuses on storytelling and technical skills: I help craft engaging narratives, from episode structure to tone and pacing, and cover technical aspects like recording clean audio and mixing in post-production using digital audio workstations or audio mixing software. Sessions can be conducted in person or online, tailored to your needs.

Production

Are you looking for someone to produce a podcast for you to connect with funders and audiences? I can help you with it from conceptualisation to reporting, recording and post production.
I’ve worked with organisations like the SELCO Foundation, producing a podcast series on millets and also tailored audio for the Agroecology Fund on sustainable agriculture.
I have also produced audio stories for media outlets like Dark N Light Zine and Newsreel Asia to highlight environmental and social issues. In addition, I work with international media organisations like the BBC, Deutsche Welle and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, sharpening my skills with every story.
